Making scraps beautiful with a waste-less cookbook.

The IKEA ScrapsBook is a cookbook for your kitchen scraps. Globally, 1.3 billion tonnes of edible food is thrown away - and most of it comes from our home kitchens. Made in collaboration with 10 chefs across North America, it includes 214 pages of recipes and tips to show you what you can do with the food you normally throw away. IKEA wanted to make scraps beautiful with an elegant book design that paid close attention to environmental details. We printed a limited-edition book to give away and made the PDF available to download for free.

“The IKEA ScrapsBook was designed for anyone that wants to practise sustainability in their homes, but may not know where to start. They created the IKEA ScrapsBook by collaborating with 10 chefs across North America to bring the book to life including Top Chef Canada’s Trevor Bird and up-and-coming restaurateur Adrian Forte. The limited-edition book itself was designed with sustainability in mind, and features solvent-free inks and recycled paper.”
