Ajax is a well-known Aspen restaurant situated in The Little Nell, an Aspen One hotel. Ajax needed a clean, elevated, no-nonsense brand to introduce their modern alpine dining concept to Denver, Colorado. The menu is centred around aged cuts of local beef – as well as local pork, game, lamb, chicken, and freshly sourced seafood. Main dishes are punctuated with carefully integrated produce that celebrates the many farms and gardens of Colorado. The identity feels rooted in alpine adventure while drawing inspiration from Denver’s rich urban heritage. The typefaces do the talking in this brand, with a vintage Swiss Alps-inspired sans for the logo and headers, and a rustic yet modern monospaced for the body copy. Playful ski-run difficulty symbols add a fun nod to Ajax’s alpine roots.
